Wonder Woman Pilot

Jerry here...

Thanks to the charity of a friend, I finally got to see the cancelled Wonder Woman pilot.  So, it's a lot less than good, but it's certainly better than I expected.  I thought the Birds Of Prey pilot was pretty bad as well, and that turned into a pretty good show (in my humble opinion).

So, Adrianne Palicki looked GREAT as Diana--maybe not Lynda Carter GREAT--but I wasn't disappointed.  She also played the part well--a really strong Amazon warrior.  I'd only seen her in Legion, and was really surprised to see her as WW.  She has the right presence, the right attitude, and the right physicality.

I was surprised to see Cary Elwes as the CEO of Themyscira Industries--I wasn't overly impressed with his performance, but that could easily be the fault of the script--since Liz Hurley wasn't overly impressive either.  I'm a fan of both performers, I have to find someone to blame.  It's kind of like neither of them really wanted to be there.

I forgive a lot, when it comes to Wonder Woman, so it does pain me to say the pilot wasn't great.  My first memorable crush was on Lynda Carter--I kissed her poster good-night before bedtime for years (why that doesn't embarrass me, I have no idea).  I'm one of the few fans who actually kind of likes the new outfit--even though I think they would've been better off going with something that has more of a Roman warrior motif.  I saw one on the interwebs months ago that kinda looked like a modified Xena, Warrior Princess outfit.

I'd love to see the series picked-up, but I find it highly doubtful.  If not the series--c'mon Warner Brothers--give me a good Wonder Woman movie!  The animated cartoon movie was fantastic--use that as a model of what a good movie could be.

The ride

Jerry here--figured you've been waiting long enough for a new furkini drawing! Excuse the breastplates--so it's only half a furkini...
